MIAMI – IDG’s CIO has named
Nicklaus Children’s Health System a 2018 CIO 100 winner. The 31st annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).
“We are honored to be recognized for our commitment to increase access to healthcare through the use of advanced technology. This award is truly a reflection of our staff’s talent and dedication to the patients and families in our care,” said Edward Martinez, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
"Every year, we are honored to showcase the technology innovation and business value delivered by our CIO 100 award winners. Each of these companies has achieved notable success in accelerating businesses to the front lines of the digital revolution," said Maryfran Johnson, Executive Director of CIO Programs for CIO Events and the CIO Executive Council. "This year's winners are inspiring examples of how IT leadership, business partnerships and customer engagement can reshape the future."
Nicklaus Children’s Health System has been at the forefront of utilizing innovative technology to enhance patient care. HIMSS Analytics named Nicklaus Children’s a HIMSS Level 7 facility in 2016, the highest level a hospital or institution can achieve in the transition to a completely integrated electronic health record model. The health system is also routinely recognized in IDGs
Computerworld as one of the 100 Best Places to Work in IT and by the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Health Forum as a Healthcare’s Most Wired facility.
CIO 100 award winners will be recognized at
The CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony on August 15 in Los Angeles.
About the CIO 100
Recipients of this year's CIO 100 Award were selected through a three-step process. First, companies filled out an online application form detailing their innovative IT and business initiatives. Next, a team of external judges (many of them former CIOs) reviewed the applications in depth, looking for leading-edge IT practices and measurable results. Finally,
CIO editors reviewed the judges' evaluations and selected the final 100.
