Dr. David Seo has joined Nicklaus Children’s Health System as Vice President and Chief Information Officer. In this role, he will oversee information technology (IT) and communication services that align with the strategic initiatives and needs of the health system – parent organization of non-profit Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, its network of outpatient centers, a medical group practice and other affiliated entities.
Dr. Seo brings to the position a breadth of healthcare leadership experience within the IT sector. Most recently, he served as associate vice president of IT and chief information officer of the University of Miami Health System, implementing enterprise electronic health record systems, clinical, business and research systems. Previously, Dr. Seo served as chief medical informatics officer and chief research informatics officer at the University of Miami Health System, managing enterprise research administrative systems and serving as the link between clinical, research and information technology stakeholders.

Dr. Seo is a graduate of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where he earned his bachelor’s degree and his medical degree. He completed his residency and internship in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, and then went on to pursue a fellowship in cardiology at Duke University Medical Center.
